Programa De Residencias Para Artistas trabajando en San Miguel de Allende:

Nuestro objetivo es crear un espacio para artistas locales dedicados a diversas disciplinas artísticas, donde puedan traducir sus ideas en un nuevo medio, la cerámica.  

El artista en residencia no necesita tener experiencia previa trabajando con cerámica.  

Te solicitamos que nos escribas 2 semanas antes de comenzar tu residencia con nosotros, informándonos sobre lo que podrías tener en mente para tu proyecto, esto con el fin de prepararnos para ayudarte de la mejor manera posible. 

  Si estás interesado en mostrar tu trabajo al resto de los estudiantes en el taller, puedes dar una charla informal con imágenes en el monitor de nuestra computadora iMac. En este caso, solo avísanos y con gusto planearemos un momento para tu presentación, pero no es obligatorio.

En caso de querer dar la platica necesitaremos tus imágenes en un USB y una idea de cuándo te gustaría dar la platica. Tu presentación sería en uno de los días de clase (lunes, martes, miércoles o jueves) a las 10:00 am, (una hora antes de que comience la clase)  

También ofrecemos la opción de que los artistas en residencia exhiban algo de su trabajo en el estudio. El período de muestra será el mismo que la duración de su residencia y la cantidad de trabajo a exhibir será dependiendo de las dimensiones del trabajo variando de 1 a 3 piezas.

A reserva del artista dichas piezas en exhibición podrán estar a la venta. En caso de venta Barro.Co Clay Studio tomará el 10% de comisión.

Al final de su período de residencia, el artista acepta donar una pieza de su elección, realizada durante su estancia con nosotros. La pieza pasará a formar parte de la colección Barro.Co Clay Studio.  El resto del trabajo que realice el artista durante su residencia será propiedad exclusiva del artista.  

El artista accede a dar crédito a Barro.Co Clay Studio en la ficha técnica en caso de que exhiba en cualquier lugar o país alguna pieza creada aquí en Barro.Co Clay Studio.

La residencia incluye:  

Materiales: barro, engobes y todos los esmaltes.  

Uso de herramientas y equipos de taller.  

El costo del servicio de quema para todo lo producido durante el período de residencia.  

Acceso gratuito a la estación de café (café, té, agua, pan dulce).  

Lo único que sugerimos traer es un cuaderno.  

Ofrecemos 2 opciones de residencia:  

OPCIÓN 1:  

Se otorga un espacio de trabajo gratuito y clases en nuestro taller por el período de1 mes completo, asistiendo a 4 clases a la semana (lunes, martes, miércoles y jueves) de 11:00 a.m. a 2:00 p.m.  

OPCION 2:  

Se otorga un espacio de trabajo gratuito y clases en nuestro taller por el período de 2 meses completos asistiendo dos veces a la semana, ya sea en el grupo de lunes / miércoles o en el grupo de martes / jueves, de 11:00 a.m. a 2:00 p.m. 

Si está interesado en una residencia con nosotros, envíenos algunas imágenes de su trabajo y/o una página de Facebook, sitio web ó Instagram, y fechas de disponibilidad para aceptar la residencia.

En general, los tiempos para nuestras residencias son por mes o por dos meses: enero / febrero, marzo / abril, mayo / junio, julio / agosto, septiembre / octubre o noviembre / diciembre. Pero hay cierta flexibilidad.

Local Artist-in-Residence Program for artists working in San Miguel de Allende: 

Our goal is to create a space for local artists dedicated to various art disciplines, unfamiliar with clay, where they can translate their ideas into a new medium, clay.

The artist in residence does not need to have previous knowledge in working with clay.

We request that you write to us 2 weeks before starting your residency with us, letting us know about what you might have in mind for your project. This in order to prepare us to assist you in the best possible way.

If the artist is interested in showing their work to the rest of the students in the studio, they can give an informal talk with images on the monitor of our iMac computer. In this case, just let us know and we will gladly plan a time for your presentation, but it is not mandatory for artists to do a talk. We will need your images on an USB and an idea of when you might like to give your chat. Your presentation would be on one of your class days (Monday/Wednesday or Tuesday/Thursday) at 10:00am, one hour before class begins.

We also offer the option for artists-in-residence to display some of their non-ceramic work in our studio. The period of exhibition will be the same as the duration of the artist’s residency. The amount of work to be exhibited will depend upon the dimensions of the pieces and the space available.

If the artist wants to sell the pieces on display Barro.Co Clay Studio will take a 10% commission.

At the end of their artist-in-residency period, the artist agrees to donate a piece of their choice, made during their stay with us. The piece will become part of the Barro.Co Clay Studio collection.

All other work that the artist makes during their residency will be entirely the property of the artist. 

The artist agrees that in the event that they exhibit a piece of work that was created here at Barro.Co Clay Studio, in any venue or country, we kindly ask you to give credit to Barro.Co Clay Studio, mentioning us in the technical data sheet. 

The residency includes: 

Materials: Clay, engobes and all glazes. 

Use of workshop tools and equipment.

The cost of the firing service for everything produced during the period of the residency. 

Free access to the coffee station (coffee, tea, water, pastries) 

The only thing you might like to bring is a notebook.  

We offer 2 residency options:

OPTION 1:

A free workspace and classes are granted in our workshop for the period of 1 full month, attending 4 classes a week (Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday) from 11:00 am to 2:00 pm

OPTION 2:

A free workspace and classes are granted in our workshop for the period of 2 full months attending twice a week, either in the Monday/Wednesday group or in the Tuesday/Thursday group, from 11:00 am to 2:00 pm.

If you are interested in a residency with us, please send us some images of your work, and/or a Facebook, website and Instagram page, and a time when you might be available to accept the residency.  

In general the time slots are by the month, or two months slots of January/February, March/April, May/June, July/August, September/October, or November/December.  There is some flexibility in the time slots.
